2 Feb - 5 March: Bikewise Month in Kapiti

The Wheels are turning in Kapiti for Bikewise Month. There are Bikers Breakfasts, a Pedal to the Picnic in a town near you and a range of mountain bike rides plus a mountain bike skills day. Also happening is the Kapiti Mayoral Challenge where we want to get more Kapiti people out cycling than other regions of similar size - we can do it if you turn up on your wheels at Otaihanga Domain Feb 12.. 7th Feb - june 2010: Kapiti sunday walkers

The Kapiti Sunday walkers meet every second Sunday in the parking area South Side of the Council offices.  Each walk costs $2, no booking is required just turn up on the day.   Click here for more info  

14 March 2010: waikanathlon at waikanae beach

This Triathlon, Duathlon, Fun Run, Swim Run or swim is achievable for anyone.  Do a part of it or the whole thing or make up a team. 500m swim  (in calm estuary), 17km flat draft legal cycle, 5km graded riverbank track run/walk. 21 March 2010: kapiti cycle challenge

A great race and you have got time to get fit for it. The challenge starts and finishes in Waikanae and goes around the iconic 95km circuit of - Waikanae - Paraparaumu - Paekakariki Hill - Haywards Hill - River Road to Brown Owl in Upper Hutt - then across the Akatarawa Hill Road to descend to the finish at Waikanae.
