Sport Wellington Regions event goal is to support the development and delivery of events that assist the Wellington Region in becoming the most active region in NZ. Supporting the physical recreation and sports sector in the delivery of quality and sustainable events throughout the region.

Wellington Round the Bays 2009
Sunday 15th February - Start at Frank Kitts Park

The Wellington Round the Bays is a 7km fun run/walk held in February each year. The next event being Sunday 15th February 2009. Don't forget to book this date in your diary now!

           

Sportsperson of the Year Awards Dinner 2008
Thursday 29th May - Wellington Town Hall

The Dominion Post Wellington Sportsperson of the Year Awards is organised by Sport Wellington Region and has become one of the prestigious events on the Wellington Sporting calendar. This event is attended by around 600 people held in late May or early June each year.

The Lion Foundation Buggy Walk 2008
October 2nd 2008 - Botanic Gardens

The Lion Foundation Buggy Walk event is aimed at children under the age of 5 years, and including mothers, fathers, grandparents and caregivers. Monthly walks are held, with a main event in October of each year. 2007 saw 500 children, parents, grandparents and caregivers attend.

           

Tour of Waikanae Cycle Fun Ride 2008
October 12th 2008 - Park Avenue, Waikanae

This is a fun, inclusive cycle event catering for people of all abilities from non-competitive to competitive riders. It has four different distance options (25km, 50km, 75km, or 100km) over a 25km circuit course. 

           

UCOL Wairarapa Triathlon/Duathlon 2008
December 2008 - Queen Elizabeth Park, Masterton

The triathlon/duathlon is aimed at the beginner athlete with the focus being on a fun and inclusive event catering for people of all abilities. The 2007 UCOL Wairarapa Triathlon has seen the inclusion of a duathlon option, as well as two options of races, being Womens only and Mixed.
